Share My Pie – Terms and Conditions
Pilot Phase – Effective March 2026

Welcome to Share My Pie!
We're building the warmest neighbourhood sharing platform in the UK – where verified neighbours lend, borrow, barter, gift, and swap skills safely inside their own 200-house Community Pie Hub.

1. About Share My Pie and these Terms
These Terms form a legal agreement between you and Share My Pie Limited ("we", "us", "Share My Pie"). By creating an account or using the app you agree to these Terms. The rules for what you can post (Community Catalogue Rules) are part of these Terms and take priority if there is any conflict.

2. Who can use Share My Pie
You must be 16 or over. If you are aged 16 or 17, a parent or legal guardian must provide verified consent before your account can be activated — this includes a parent/guardian email confirmation and agreement to these Terms on your behalf. You must live inside a verified 200-house pilot Community Pie Hub. One account per person. You agree to use Share My Pie only for personal, non-commercial sharing within your hub.

3. Account Creation & Verification
To keep everyone safe we require:

• Real name (as on ID)
• Utility bill (dated within last 30 days) + selfie for facial match
• Re-verification every 6 months

When your re-verification is due, we will send you email and in-app reminders 30 days, 14 days, and 3 days before your deadline. If you do not re-verify within 7 days of the deadline, your account will be paused. During the pause period your subscription will be suspended — no charges will be taken until you re-verify and reactivate. We may ask for extra checks at any time. You are responsible for everything that happens on your account.

4. Your Conduct & Privacy Rules

• Always treat neighbours with respect – no hate speech, harassment, discrimination, threats or bullying.
• Use of the in-app QR handover code is mandatory for every trade, lend, borrow, gift or handover on Share My Pie. QR codes facilitate trades in all circumstances when using the platform. They are a vital component of the structure of Share My Pie and are put in place to offer security and a logged record of where your "Piece" resides. Failure to use the QR handover process violates these Terms and Conditions.
• We strongly recommend keeping all deal-related conversations within the app so there is a full record. Share My Pie cannot offer any protection, evidence, or support for arrangements made outside the platform.
• No spam, phishing, or promoting other apps/services.
• Report anything suspicious immediately.

5. Community Catalogue Rules – What you can and cannot post

Allowed (examples): Tools, lawnmowers, drills, bikes, kids' toys, clothes, books, homeware, garden equipment, skills (carpentry, gardening, pet sitting), furniture, sports gear, musical instruments, new/unopened cosmetics.

Strictly Prohibited (not exhaustive):

• Anything illegal, counterfeit, stolen or unsafe
• Weapons, knives, firearms, pepper spray, tasers, explosives
• Drugs, drug paraphernalia, vaping products
• Alcohol or tobacco products
• Prescription medicines or medical devices
• Used underwear, cosmetics or hygiene items
• Live animals or pets
• Items that promote hate, violence, terrorism or discrimination
• Recalled or unsafe electrical items
• Anything that could harm a child or vulnerable person

We can remove any post immediately if it breaks these rules.

A note on food & home-grown produce: We know that a freshly baked pie over the fence, home-grown veg from the garden, or a batch of eggs from a neighbour's chickens is exactly what community spirit looks like — and we don't want to stifle that. Community Pie Members are welcome to share homemade food, baked goods, and home-grown produce with neighbours they know and trust, gifted freely as a neighbourly gesture. Share My Pie has absolutely no involvement — financial or otherwise — in any food-related exchange, accepts zero responsibility for food safety, hygiene, allergens, or any illness or issue arising from food shared between neighbours. This is entirely between you and your neighbour, at your own risk.

6. Content & Listings
You grant Share My Pie a free licence to show your photos and listings inside the app only. All listings must be accurate, with real photos (no stock images). You must include safety instructions if the item needs them.

7. Payments & Subscriptions (Pilot Pricing)

• Monthly subscription only (starts at £8, rises with hub growth up to £14 max).
• No per-transaction fees.
• Subscriptions are non-refundable after the cooling-off period (see below).
• Prices shown on the "Show More" screen and may increase with notice.

Cooling-off period: New Community Pie Members have 14 days from the date of their first subscription payment to cancel for a full refund, in line with UK consumer law. After this 14-day period, subscriptions are non-refundable and continue until cancelled.

8. Liability & Disclaimers
Share My Pie is just the platform. We are not a party to any agreement between Community Pie Members and take no responsibility whatsoever for any deals, payments, handovers, disputes, losses, damages, injuries or issues — even when the required QR handover process is used. You trade, lend, borrow or gift at your own risk. Check items yourself and use common sense.

9. Disputes & Safety
Use the in-app report button first. The QR handover log may be used as evidence during investigations, but we cannot force outcomes and are not liable for any result. For serious issues (theft, harm, illegal activity) contact the police.

10. Termination & Bans
We can suspend or permanently ban accounts for breaking these Terms (including failure to use the mandatory QR handover), with or without notice in serious cases. You can close your account anytime (subscription stops at end of paid month).

11. Your Data & Privacy (GDPR)
We take your privacy seriously. Share My Pie collects and processes personal data including your name, address, selfie, utility bill, and location data (for Call to All) in order to operate the platform. All data is stored securely on EU/UK-based servers. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties. You have the right to:

• Request a copy of all data we hold about you (Download My Data)
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data (7-day grace period applies)
• Withdraw consent for optional data processing at any time

12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by English and Welsh law. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of England and Wales.

13. Changes to these Terms
These Terms and Conditions may be reviewed and updated from time to time to reflect changes in our platform, applicable laws, or regulatory requirements within the jurisdiction in which your account operates. Where changes are made, we will notify you via email and/or an in-app notification at least 30 days before the updated Terms take effect. Your continued use of Share My Pie after the effective date constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with any changes, you may close your account before the new Terms come into force.
